Topic: Playstation 4 drama?

So after selling all these consoles, Sony takes a risk and introduces a "new" console that supports 4k while acknowledging that a new console is coming soon thereafter.

Sony is taking a huge risk; they built market share off of Microsoft's fuckup of the xbox one launch. But telling PS4 owners to buy a new console again for 2016/17, and hey by the way another console is coming out in 2018/19 or so...

The Boner is doing the same shit.

We can expect to see a full reveal of the Xbox One S at Microsoft’s E3 2016 segment.  We may also find out more about a more powerful Xbox One codenamed “Scorpio” which is rumored for release next year.

Both companies rushed their products to market so they wouldn't be behind the other guy. Then the VR craze hits with Vive and Rift and neither of the boxes are powerful enough to run them. There's a sucker born every minute.

Re: Playstation 4 drama?

They're both out to milk consumers for as much money as possible because they know, at least when it comes to games, people are going to want the next new thing. One company doesn't want the other to get ahead. Personally, I'm not much impressed by all that 4k bullshit since we don't really care. I haven't even gotten a goddamn PS4 yet, but I'm not obsessed with always getting the new console WHEN it comes out, because that's the dumbest thing to do. You can tell when Xbone needs to move more units when they start back up showing their damn commercials 10 times in one hour on one channel.

As I've said, they're just concerned with keeping ahead and they figure the "best" way to do that is to keep crapping out as many consoles as possible with, maybe, minimal changes. The same is going on with Nintendo with them talking about releasing another handheld. The "new" 3ds isn't even that old.

when did games become about the console and not the games? I feel like there was more talk about new and fancier consoles than there was new games for those consoles

Because they feel they make more money on the consoles than the games; without the console, you can't play the games unless you go PC which is what a lot of people, including myself, are turning to. Actually, I think PC games cost just as much now but I use Steam. They know that people will be quicker to buy the new systems, especially if certain titles are exclusive to that system. Sony and Microshaft have been at this for years, with Nintendo just coasting by basically and chimes in when it feels like it. When it comes to E3 though, Sony has always had a bigger audience and people are generally more excited for their panels than Microsoft.

Now it's just about releasing the next "big" console with crap nobody really needs and THEN going BACK to re-release that SAME system but, this time, with backwards compatibility which should have been there in the first place. These company's don't really give a hot shit about the gamers anymore, if they even did to begin with.

To use a shitty analogy:
It's the difference between low-end and mid-range pc's.
Nothing is exclusive to the neo.
You can still play all the new games on the original ps4.

And where is this new console? All that's planned is the ps neo, right?
