I'm so happy to see Ottawa being screwed over right now by Heatley. Can't stand that team of lazy pansies.
Anyhow, what does everyone think of the off-season movement of players, who they think will be contenders and so on.

I happen to be a Leafs fan. At least this year, along with us sucking, it looks like Ottawa and Montreal won't be any better, and Buffalo shouldn't be great. We'll just have to put up with Boston kicking our ass a few times this year.

At least Burke's building a team that won't be afraid to drop the gloves when they're down :p

I'm kinda 50/50 about saku koivu coming to the ducks. I think he was asked too much of in MTL and will do better as a 2nd line center without the pressure of captaincy. Then again he may just keep up his mediocrity.

I don't know what Garth Snow is doing in NY. he's got depietro, biron and roloson now (i think) which is ridiculous. is he expecting to use one of them as trade bait or does he want to spend all his cap room on goalies?

It was smart of Vancouver to re-sign he Sedins. They account for a lot of offence and i doubt you'd get the same amount of scoring from the free agents that were available this year for around their price range.

Anaheim pulled of the trade of the year already though. They've got Lupul back, plus some first rounders and all they had to give up was a Chris Pronger past his prime. Unfortunately i don't think we'll be able to contend again for a couple years after giving up the likes of kunitz, moen, pahlsson. those guys were the backbone of the team in 07 and gave room for the skill guys to do their thing.

Oh, yeah, the team is certainly tough, if the have anything. And you never know, the defence is solid, and if Toskala bounces back or Gustavsson turns out to be good, we could pick up quite a few wins.

I was soooo happy with that trade IMO whitney was our worst defender, and Kunitz is now tied with Guerin and Malkin for my favs on the Pens
